How do you really feel about working at Lindley Middle School this year?

50 comments:

  1. it shows me that Cobb County does not give a damn about this side of town. It shows me that when you put such a leader in charge and let them down grade and come into the school with charges already against them from another school system, either no other personnel are in place or like I said, these particular ethnic students are not being placed high on the priority list of academics. Wonder whey she is not governing schools in the Nort....hum

  2. This blog is hilarious but all so true. Working at LMS is a fucking nightmare. I agree with Marvette, Cobb County does not give a damn about the LMS students or staff! It's funny and I just sit back and laugh at all of Big Erv's flunkies running around the school doing her work! She gets the credit for what they do. Not only does Big Erv have flunkies, she also have a sell-out cliche. You better take off running when you see them coming your way.. black eye, he/she, clip, big Kuntry, big gul,and buck eye. They are all up in her ass, when she poots they are right behind her with the air freshener!

  3. LMAO!!!!!! I was beginning to think I was the only sane person at the assylum! I totally agree with all of thee above. Not only is Ervin a pain in the ass [I'm sure she's got pains in her ass too with all those people up it bucking for position], but also all the little idiots she's hired and placed in key positions.
We actually had people being hospitalized for exhaustion from working themselves in the ground, running and ratting on teachers, when most of them weren't doing their own jobs.
The dance teacher had 4 classes instead of 5 like everyone one else and she had to be hospitalized twice. You were looked down upon if you didn't hang around the school till 10pm at night.
Woody was in dress code violation almost everyday. Pulliam sat around and talked about how much she liked to fu*k.

Hendrix wants to be an administrator, but can't get her own son to pull up his pants. Hendrix, people would pay more attention to you if you used correct grammar sweetie, maybe they'll help you out with that in grad school . . . right. And how many fathers between those 5 kids, anyway?

Lavizzo is walking around with that "bouncy booty," like the kids call him, sleeping with everything that'll let him in. And he just had a sexual harassment repremand handed to him the summer before he started at Lindley for making a female teacher touch him inappropriately. He shouldn't be in an evaluating position at all, especailly of a female employee. With all the problems we have at Lindley, why even place him there? Why wasn't he demoted or even fired?

Mrs. Lavizzo get tested and get a divorce, you and your daughter are better off without him. What was that he said on Miss Gar**a's facebook page? There are at least 5 mofos at that school you could put your foot up for sleeping with your husband, but for the 5 that I know about their are probably another 5 that I don't know about.

Cambridge and Dye are the only two administrative personnel who performed in their job positions. Smith was a cook.
Oh and where did all that money go Ervin? You were charging for everything. The kids could wear their hats on Thurs and Fridays if they paid $1. Parents, teachers and students had pay to go to the Black History Program. Teachers could wear jeans during the week of testing if they paid $1. The kids had to buy after school snacks that I thought were free and "funky favorite" teachers got gift cards right before Easter break and others didn't. Did we really need those 3 wii games?

Why is there teacher work in the main hallway instead of student work? Why do these teachers need so much recognition when we're there to lift up, motivate and educate the students not the teachers. Lindley this year is the wildest zoo I've every visited. I'll post some more when I think of it.

  5. Marvette, people think they can keep doing wrong, but get right and that's just not true.

That legion of demons has run rampant all year long and only a couple of people have tried to say or do anything about it.

In the end we will all be accountable for our own actions and it won't matter how many people are behind us cheering, pleading or crying [leadership team].

  6. In all honesty i can say that this is the worst working environment that I have ever seen. People are scared to speak to each other because of all the spies and secret agents that report back to Ervin. REALITY CHECK FOR SPIES: Ervin doesn't care about you. She is only using you because you are ignorant and controllable. WWWAAAAAAKKKKKKEEEE UUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPPPP!-Spike Lee

Does Kanisha believe that she's an ADMINISTRATOR? LOL! This girl is really clueless. She believes that we are generally interested in what she talks about in Leadership and Staff Development. She needs to spend less time trying to emulate Ervin because that's truly a low goal. Word of advise Ka-Ka...Spend more time wit yo man. You barely got em and its gonna take everythang you got to keep him.

Pulliam: More LA Fitness, Less Snacking, and more Bobbing and Weaving. LOL!

Burke: If you wanna be part of the AMEN corner, go to chuch.

I'm gonna let the rest of the you off the hook for now. Don't breathe yet. I'm coming for ya.

  10. If you so called educators would spend as much tine on your lesson plans and updating your teaching techniques as you do complaining and cursing and talking about your principal, maybe your students could reach their full potential!
Oliver North, have you found a job yet?! You have a lot of free time. Why don't you tutor a child or something...please educators add something besides complaints. I'm glad my kids don't go to that school....not becuase of the principal, but because of the lame crybaby teachers. Find a new proffession, idiots.

  11. I have heard about this blog and watched it for as long as I could without saying anything, but it is past time I interject. Are there problems at Lindley? Yes, but there are problems at every school. Teachers at other schools just learn not to air their dirty laundry, or execute a plan to get rid of the cause of the problem. This is not the way to handle things at all and all of you know it. *Cliett*, I mean Oliver North, you should do yourself a favor and stop fanning these flames because all you did was make LMS harder for those that remain. This whole thing in senseless. I understand that you people are unhappy and you have a right to feel however you feel, but there comes a time and a place for everything in life and you never really know your Principal's side of the story. If you have a legitimate complaint, by all means, go to her and voice your concerns. I assure you that she is not as bad as you all claim she is. You have spoken on this woman having low self-esteem, but how low is your self-esteem that you won't even behave like adults and go to this person? Time is out for games and our children do not deserve this.

  12. I am appalled and outraged at the comments made about Landon Brown and his male colleagues in anonymous' June 16th blog. To disagree on philosophy or leadership style is one thing; personal attacks on sexual orientation and race are another. Anonymous' vicious comments are not only cruel and inflammatory, but slanderous.

I'm certain that if the author was asked about his or her religious beliefs, he or she would claim to be a good Christian. Ironic and very, very sad.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I agree. Sexual orientation has no effect on leadership capabilities. I too was appalled at the accusations against Landon Brown. Especially when this post is about Sandra Ervin.

    ReplyDelete
  14. You people working for Sandra Ervin are riduculous. You know these accusations are true and this is a terrible working environment. A kicked dog will holla all the time. Women up and take your strifes. Lindley is the devel's hole at the moment and the real voices are being heard. Just keep being her pony for her ok and go put some more red marks on her paper for her, Jonay, Kanisha and the rest of the PE clan!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I gotta tell y'all, my heart is hurting. It is completely untrue to say that what goes on at Lindley goes on at other schools. Come on, it just doesn't. And it's one thing to complain about work related issues. But many of you posting now are bringing in people who are my friends, or that I have worked with long enough to know they have good hearts. The way you are bringing in personal lives is completely uncalled for in this situation. It has nothing to do with work! Whether you speak the truth as you claim or not, God is the only judge for all of us. So please let him do his job and stop the nasty personal attacks. You can complain while remaining professional and keeping some dignity!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I second that July 7 (8:27pm). Attacking folks on their personal lives is completely uncalled for. If Ervin is so bad, then what makes you think that she has not bullied these people into behaving this way. You talk about the PE department, but what they done that is so wrong. Fight to keep their jobs and feed their families? Is that what they have done wrong? QUIT IF YOU HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM WITH IT! The economy is not that bad that folks have to suffer some of the stuff that you all are complaining about. Step out on faith if it's like that.

  17. Despite parent support, Westlake principal resigns

    By MICHELLE E. SHAW
    The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 04/02/08 Sandra Ervin, principal of Westlake High School in South Fulton County, will not return to her post next year.

Ervin, whose job was rumored to be up in the air, submitted her resignation to the Fulton County school board Tuesday, said Mitzi Woody, chief of staff for the system. The resignation was accepted, effective at the end of the school year, Woody said.

Many parents and students thought Ervin was going to be reassigned to another school or fired. Message boards in the south Atlanta community were full of speculation about — and support for — the principal.

Last week Ervin declined to comment.

Supporters of the principal showed up at the school board offices in large numbers during a work session Tuesday to ask the board not to remove Ervin from Westlake. Some

  18. Dear Teachers,

I know my wife, Sandra, is not perfect but please give her a second chance. She has helped a lot of teachers that call our house every day to show their support for Sandra. Many of you want leadership positions, and she just doesn't have enough to give everyone. Pulliam we will see to it that you get what ever you want just keep asskissing.

    Signed Fred Ervin (husband)

  19. This is ridiculous! That is clearly not Fred Ervin! SOMEBODY GROW UP, PLEASE!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I agree with the statment above. Mrs. Ervin's door is not open. If you try to bring something to her attention she uses threats to "put you in your place". Or she throws your data in your face to say that you need to stop complaining and focus on your numbers (oh, whoops..I mean students)

This blog would not be necessary if Mrs. Ervin was able to take constructive criticism. Lord knows, we take it every day.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Alan Lavizzo, now an assistant principal at Lindley Middle School in Mableton, forced a female teacher to touch him inappropriately, said Nina Gupta, an attorney at Brock Clay Calhoun and Rogers, which represents the district.

Dr. Donald Dunnigan, the district's human resources chief, sent Lavizzo a letter of reprimand on July 11.

"Floyd Middle School, Lindley Middle School, and all other CCSD employees have the right to work in an environment free from discriminatory intimidation based on sex," Dunnigan wrote to Lavizzo. (Gilloly, October 18, 2008, Marietta Daily Journal).

What in the hell is Lavihoe supposed to be doing fucking Allen, Garcia and Pulliam then?
He is a married man. Are these bitches crazy?

  22. It amazes me that you people who claim to be so educated and have other things to do are on the blog just like the rest of us. Fess up and realize that what goes around comes around. It seems like Mrs. Ervin's watchdogs are really "watching". When the above statement was mentioned that the PE dept. is just trying to feed their children and keep their jobs, that was what the Nazi's in Germany were trying to do when they were under the guidance of Hitler!!! How weak and pitiful. You are on my prayer list!! and I did quit if you must know!

  23. I have recently had a life changing experience that has given me a new outlook about things. I have read the things everyone has said in this blog, some more harsh than others, but let me shed a little light on the subject. Everyone has made either valid or invalid points, that fact alone means that there is something that needs to be addressed.

So my advice is this WAKE UP, SPEAK UP AND DO OMETHING ABOUT IT. Everyone is hiding behind this blog for whatever reason, STOP HIDING AND SPEAK UP. There are MANY different ways you can openly and respectfully express your concerns. If you are not willing to stand up for what you feel then you honestly have no right to complain. I wish I could be around to see if anyone does this, but I am sure someone will secretly post it up here. Its crazy because if you operate in this weak cowardly degrading manner about something like this, then you probably use these same simple methods in other areas in your life, which may explain why you are where you are in your life. Think about it.

Just an FYI, if anything that was said in this post upset or offended you in anyway shape fashion or form then your definitely have insecurity issues and everything that was said in this post was meant for you. I wish everyone the best of luck in the up coming school year, and I hope you realize that you are molding the minds of young strong intelligent minds that are looking for guideance and direction in any and every way, but if you continue operating with this cloudy vision, you are stripping them of the opportunity to reach their full potential. THINK ABOUT IT, MAKE A CHANGE AND DO FOR THESE KIDS WHAT NO ONE ELSE SEEMS TO BE DOING FOR THEM, AND HELP THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. It is very hard to help kids when someone is standing behind you with a gun to your head everday. Some of you comments are valid, but you know the real deal. We work for someone who takes pleasure in degrading staff and threating the livelihoods of their families. ANY NEW SUGGESTIONS?

    Sick of IT

  26. This is insane! Don't attack people personally. If you have a problem with their leadership or professionalism, that is one thing. But to attack someone's sexuality or race is unacceptable.

What has Landon Brown done that makes him unethical or immoral or a liar? Seems to me that you have a problem with his "assumed" sexuality..which isn't even founded. Has he told you that he is gay? And even if he is gay, does that effect his job?

I think he is doing a fine job. At least 6th grade academy made AYP..that is more than I can say about Mrs. Ervin's 7th and 8th grade academy.

Brown was one of the first people I met upon joining the Lindley team. He was very friendly and helpful which is more than I can say for the majority of the people at the 7th and 8th grade academy.

Can we please stick to the point of this blog which is the unfair treatment of teachers under Mrs. Ervin's leadership?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I agree with anonymous' comments re: Landon Brown.
It amazes be that in 2009, educated individuals would be so concerned with someone's sexuality unless they were struggling with their own.

Under his leadership, LSA made AYP. I truly sympathize with those having to work under Ervin's leadership but please refrain from the gay-bashing. It is destructive and unnecessary.

    ReplyDelete
  28. As a Managerial/Leadership expert, it is tough to lead a school of instructors that are displeased with the leadership of the school. AYP for the 6th grade only, is not great, if you have a school full of educators that do not like its leadership. In my opinion why ask why,

in the post listed below the person asked: I think he is doing a fine job. At least 6th grade academy made AYP..that is more than I can say about Mrs. Ervin's 7th and 8th grade academy.

Are you kidding me. Leaders create leaders and make decisions that will motivate the instructors and educators to work hard in a hostile environment. GROW UP! These leaders are fucking up the morale. With all the fucking going on you would think the entire school would make AYP.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I am really shocked and amazed at the drama that is taking place at Lindley. As a parent of a 7th grader I am ashamed to send my child to this school. I will be sure to show this interaction to the President of the PTA. We will get feedack on what can be done to rectify this mess. Perhaps it is time for Fred Sanderson of the Cobb County Board of Education to get involved. The focus should be on educating our children.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thank you Lord!!!! Finally a parent who is willing to do something about the laugh of a circus at the 7th and 8th grade Academy!

I chose to work at Lindley because I actually like teaching the "At Risk" student population, but almost every year has been a hugh disappointment in administration.

Coming from another school gives you a different level of insight into situations and most of Lindley's problems come from the main office. Every year teachers have to start over with tasks as simple as lesson plans and the master schedule.

Oh and this year Ervin had us "color code" our lesson plans, so that Pulliam's elementary aged children could check them. Don't give me something for a child to check. If you can't earnestly go over what you've ask me to turn in, then it just becomes busy work and I'm busy enough.

Last school year was nothing short of a guessing game. It was like being in the Army, everyday was an adventure. Student team meetings and other assemblies were called for the first time at 9am that morning. "Book reports" for teachers every Wednesday. Changing student schedules for one teacher and not another, man the list goes on and on and on.

We even had a support person win teacher of the year. She's not a teacher, she does scheduling! Once again, am I the only sane person in the assylum?! :@

For people who claim they stay at the school until 10pm almost every night, they sure are dropping the ball. Maybe they are planning by delirium.

Go home to your families people! Let's not have 2 and 3 people in the hospital at a time for exhaustion again, this up coming school year.

And to those of you who feel this blog is nonsense, come sub at Lindley for a week, so you can witness the injustices first hand. Sit in on the meetings so you can hear the threats, degrading remarks and the unfounded "praise and worsip" from the leadership team first hand. Most of the parents, I've worked with at Lindley this year can't stand Sandra Ervin.

Oh, it's all good while she's feeding you, but have a problem with your child at school and she's worst than evil. She seems to forget that she's working with human beings.

She was so heartless as to give a teacher a mark down on her evaluation because she missed days to have a baby. To have a BABY!!!!!

Last time I checked a woman had no control over when a baby is born. I mean after 9 months that's it, mom can't hold her knees together till Christmas or summer break.

I honestly am almost ready to just quit. I can work at McDonald's, Burger King and Walmart to make up for my salary, at lest they have an organized system.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am having a problem with this mess. How in the world is this blog gonna make yall look to the bigwigs in the district? You cant think it will make you look good. Come on people. Get yourselves together. When you set out to make someone look bad, you always end up looking bad yourself.

  39. We use to have some good Black Princples in Cobb County, I'm not sure where they got Ms.Ervin from because she truly needs to go! Dr.Bynum was not the best but Cobb County and John Adam along with Tana Page of the Cobb County Association of Educator had Dr,Bynum under investigation for the last seven years, Tana Page and John Adam has been trying to get Dr.Bynum and every other Black man in Cobb County ! When Teachers and Parents start organizing we can get rid of people like Mrs.Ervin and as the Bus Driver said "Who in the hell is John Adam"! I continue to hear mess about Mrs.Ervin and this need to be pass on to the newspaper. After hearing what the bus driver said I'm dropping my membership in CCAE because I have heard a lot of mess about this Tana Page, who in the hell is she anyway!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Tana Page is the person who sells members out by getting them to think she is there to help them, and then goes to management and rats on the employee to help the manager retaliate against them and eventually they loose their job.

Tana Page can not be trusted she needs to be voted out of office. She has bribed Ervin into becoming a member. I call this conflict of interest she represents management and teachers. She distances herself from teachers when they are in trouble if she likes the principal. Get rid of CCAE and join MACE!!!!

  41. I feel that Ms. Erivn is a promlem in Cobb County but we have to look at the big Picture of who brought this woman to Cobb and why they brought her here!Lindley has not improve because she's there instead it has gone down to the 'Dog's" check and see how many Black's and Black males she has got rid of !
I saw GAE REP. Tana Page come in closed the door while the teacher sit out and waited for them to call "Him" in. John Adam and his side kick'e Mar Finlayson who is now called the "The Bitches Of All Red Necks" and Taga Page and I can't understand why she is turning on GAE members who are all "Black", they need to go ! I am the Bus Driver who see's everything! GAE will never get another dime of my money after I saw how they treated Mr..... They called him in on friday without any resresentation from that thing they call a Teacher Union GAE, they gave this young man some obtions, you either resign or you'll fired!
That was Ms. Red Neck Mary Finlayson, she's good at that! and under pressure with no "REpresentation" from GAE another Black Man losted there job!!!

  45. It's about time!!!! It's time out for absolute power to a lunatic!!! I hate to say this about anyone, but I can't STAND Mrs. Ervin!!! I hate the structure of the school day and everyone is lying about us not making AYP!

I called the GaDOE and they told me scores come out about 5 days after the test are taken or retaken. Why isn't anyone fessing up to the fact that we didn't make it?

It's okay Ervin, a whole bunch of folks before you couldn't do it either, but shouldn't it have been easier for you since we did it the year before? I guess you're not a great as you seem in your own mind.

Let's stop reinventing the wheel people . . . I don't give a fu*k about feedback on my lesson plans. That doesn't teach a child. I'll copy and paste anything you want me to in the fn thing just to get it over with and never look at it again. I'm glad you all (admin team) like all the pretty colors.

And as for Tanya Page and John Adams, what else do you really expect? Like Michael Jackson stated, "All I want to say is that they don't really care about us!" That's not a big surprise.

They scrape the bottom of the barrel to put Lindley together. All the folks who need a job and can't get one anywhere else, come stand in the Lindley line.

Truly sad indeed! Where do they keep finding these clowns?!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Okay, I found some of these post absolutely HILARIOUS!!!! Yall just be blasting one another. I'm not a teacher, but I am a parent and I KNOW a lot of this is true about the teachers. But I do have a question: Can someone please tell me if it is true that Coach Simmons was boning Mrs. Harris (notice the Mrs.) and one her step team parents. And now they are boosum buddies. LOL! I thought that was hilarious being that he looks like a big ass 6 year old boy. LOL!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Why is Mrs. Harris obsessed with being young while her daughter's self-esteem continues to plunge? How are you a 7th grade 'Gifted' teacher and your 7th grader NOT make the Honor Roll? I'm trying to understand this one since you love to brag on being "Chosen" by Mrs. Ervin to be a Leader. Where are your priorities? How are you the coach of a Step Team, but you don't step and your daughter is not even on the team? We all know that you don't care that much about students to be involved. We can see through you... Is it that you are trying to hold on to your youth? LOL! Well you look good for 45, be happy with that...

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well, I was an 8th grade student at lindley in 2008-09. Mrs. Ervin was awful for the entire year, and her and I (one of the gifted kids!) budded heads. But towards the end, I ultimately saw her impact. You have to admit, she did improve Lindley. I can't believe my teachers act like this! It was funny at first, but as I read, I'm like omg...You should be ashamed. You are worst than us [the students]. That's bad. I've grown up alot in high school and know I would never do something like this. Well, praying for you. MMm
